Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan / Blue Care Network is introducing paperless billing to individual and Medicare supplement plans.
Beginning August 1, 2025, all new under 65 individual members will be defaulted to paperless billing. They’ll need to create their member accounts at bcbsm.com/register
when they receive their ID cards to be able to view their bills in their member accounts.
Also starting August 1, current members will no longer receive paper bills from Blue Cross for those enrolled in under 65 individual medical, vision and dental plans.
Starting September 1, 2025, some existing Medicare supplement plan members will transition to paperless billing. Medicare supplement members without an email or online member account will be excluded from the paperless billing transition. New Medicare supplement plan members will not automatically be enrolled in paperless billing.
As of now, this does not apply to Medicare Advantage or PDP members.
Blue will be sending out emails and letters to members to prepare them for this change.
