McLaren Health Plan to Exist Group Health Market in Michigan

McLaren Health Plan and Physicians Health Plan (PHP) have advised they will no longer offer health insurance to commercial business employees, retirees, and their dependents effective January 1, 2024. Enrollees in these two plans must elect a new health carrier to have coverage as of January 1, 2024.

Current McLaren Health Plan and PHP coverage will not be extended under any circumstance beyond December 31, 2023.

MHP Community will phase out its employer group business to expand focus on its Medicaid, Medicare and Individual health plan offerings throughout Michigan.

This Group Market Exit continues the downsizing of the number of available Small Group Health Plan carriers in the State of Michigan.
